Private Practice – Overview of roles advertised at beginning of December.

Transactional Roles:

At the beginning of December, we identified the following number of London based roles that were being advertised by law firms on their careers’ pages in the below practice areas:

• Banking & Finance:  39 roles (two being PSL roles) (11 with US firms, 27 with UK international/global firms and one with a City/regional firm).  Nine of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Corporate:  41 roles (four being PSL roles) (eight with US firms, 25 with top tier international firms and 8 with national/regional firms). 17 of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Restructuring/Insolvency:  Eight roles (two with US firms, three with international firms, three with City/Regional firms). None of the roles were new since the beginning of November.

Advisory Practice areas:

At the beginning of December, we identified the following number of London based roles being advertised by law firms on their careers’ pages in the below practice areas:

• Antitrust/EU/Competition: 14 roles (including two PSL roles) (Seven with US firms, six with international firms and one with a City/regional firm). Six of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Employment - 22 roles (including one PSL role) (one with a US firms, nine with top tier international firms, five with national/regional firms and seven with City boutiques). Eight of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• FS/Regulatory - Seven roles (One with a US firm and five with international firms and one with a City/Regional firm). Three of the roles was new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Incentives - Three roles (two with international firms, and one with a regional firm).  One of the roles was new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Funds - Six roles (two with US firms, four with international firms).  One of the roles was new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Pensions - Eight roles (six with international firms and two with national/regional firm). Two of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Tax - 19 roles (Including 3 tax litigation) (Three with US firms, 10 with international firms and six with regional/City firms). Six of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

Litigation:

At the beginning of December, we identified the following number of London based roles being advertised by law firms on their careers’ pages in the below practice areas:

• Commercial Litigation - 22 roles (including two PSL roles) (one with a US firm, seven international firms, 14 with national/regional/city boutiques). Four of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Real Estate Litigation - Seven roles (three with international firms and four with City Boutiques/Regional firms).  One of the roles was new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Insurance Litigation - 19 roles (10 with international firms, nine with regional firms). 10 of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November

• Personal Injury (including clinical negligence) - Six roles (Including 2 defendant led roles) (two with international firms, four with City/Regional firm).  Three of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Specialist Litigation - Nine roles (five with international firms, four with city boutiques).  Three of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

Construction, Planning and Real Estate:

At the beginning of December, we identified the following number of London based roles being advertised by law firms on their careers’ pages in the below practice areas:

• Construction - Eight roles (including one PSL role) (two with international firms, six with national/regional/City boutiques).  None of the roles were new.  

• Construction Litigation - Three roles (two with international firms, one with national/regional/city boutiques).  None of the roles were new.

• Planning - Seven roles (four with international firm, three with national/regional firms).  Two of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.

• Commercial Real Estate - 11 roles (one with a US firm, six with international firms and four with national/regional/City firms).  Five of the roles were new, having been added to the firms’ careers’ site since the beginning of November.
