AI, Cybersecurity & Big Data: A&O Shearman advised Providence on its acquisition of tax compliance software firm Tax Systems and also supported AI powerhouse Quantexa in its $175 million Series F, driving it to a $2.6 billion valuation. Meanwhile, Freshfields worked with Salesforce on snapping up Convergence.ai.
On the Cybersecurity side Gibson Dunn guided ReliaQuest and KKR through a $500 million investment, and Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP advised PSG Equity on a strategic investment into UK-based Glasswall. Weil also steered H.I.G. Capital’s in the take-private acquisition of Converge Technology Solutions.
Public M&A and Funding Rounds TA Associates’ £570 million take-private of FD Technologies saw a Magic Circle–Silver Circle–US Elite trio of A&O Shearman, Ashurst and Latham & Watkins advising on different facets of the deal.
Startups weren’t left behind: Mills & Reeve assisted Oxford spinout Mode Labs in securing £3 million to advance its chemical sensing tech, while Simmons & Simmons supported Tenzing’s investment in Tillo’s digital gift card platform.
Digital Infrastructure & Smart Cities Osborne Clarke guided Unity5’s acquisition of Chipside, boosting parking tech capabilities. Pinsent Masons partnered on smart city campuses with Digital Urban Place, showcasing a shift towards tech-driven urban development. Shoosmiths advised Addtech on its UK expansion through acquiring AMP Power Protection.
PE and Strategic Investments Lewis Silkin helped Koto secure PE backing for global brand innovation; Squire Patton Boggs advised Hippo Digital on growth investment from Exponent; and White & Case LLP guided EQT and IFS in a minority stake sale to Hg, ADIA and CPP Investments at €15 billion valuation
